Jaffer Ali Muhammad Somji, surnamed Sufi was created at Karachi in 1908, where he required his formal education, both religious and secular. He began his career like a religious teacher in addition to a supervisor of Wazir Rahim Boarding School. Also, he grew to become a normal missionary in Karachi, after which gone to live in East Africa.
In 1932, Jaffer Ali Muhammad Somji was hired like a religious teacher of Boys Senior High School in Mombasa, where also, he established The Youthful Ismailia Entertainment Club Institute, as well as began a periodical, known as Gulshan-e-Ilm.
In 1936, he arrived Nairobi and labored like a superintendent of Rehmatullah Valji Hirji Boarding for 2 years. In 1938, he visited Bombay with Imam’s guidance, he became a member of Entertainment Club Institute.
In 1947, Jaffer Ali Muhammad Somji released the very first amount of the Rumi’s mathnawi into Gujrati. The Imam deputed Dewan Mister Eboo Pirbhai to Aden, Yamen as his High Commissioner on December 12, 1955 with Missionary Jaffer Ali Sufi. There have been only 20 to 25 Ismailis in Aden. Dewan Mister Eboo Pirbhai met the governor to resolve the neighborhood problems from the Ismailis and been successful to get separate plots for that Jamatkhana along with a graveyard. Missionary Jaffer Ali shipped his waez in Aden in addition to labored being an assistant of Dewan Mister Eboo Pirbhai.
Missionary Jaffer Ali Sufi then found Karachi with Dewan Mister Eboo Pirbhai. Mukhi Noor Ali Gwadarwala approved him a tea-party on December 31, 1955 within the Aga Khan Gymkhana. Wazir Dr. Pir Muhammad Hoodbhoy, Varas Sher Ali Alidina, Wazir Ali Muhammad Jan Muhammad Chunara, etc also attended it.
Soon later on, Jaffer Ali Sufi proceeded to Bombay for carrying out waez. Also, he visited Rangoon and attended All Burma Annual Majalis held on 19th, 20th and 21st April, 1956 and entertained the jamats together with his waez.
Missionary Jaffer Ali Sufi died on Monday, March 18, 1963 at 12.10 a.m. within the Platinum Jubilee Hospital in Nairobi at age 55 years. The Imam sent following message on his sad demise:-

Deeply grieved to listen to sad demise missionary Jafferali Sufi. I send my most affectionate loving paternal maternal benefits for that soul recently missionary Jafferali and pray his soul relaxation in eternal peace. Best blessing late missionary family for courage and fortitude within their great loss.
It might be noted that three eminent people died inside a length of 17 days, who have been connected using the Ismailia Association for Pakistan, – Missionary Jaffer Ali Sufi (d. March 18, 1963), Missionary Hamir Lakha (d. March 16, 1963) and Wazir A.C. Rahimtullah (d. April 1, 1963). The Ismailia Association for Pakistan organized a great majalis on April 7, 1963 for that departed souls within the Garden Jamatkhana, Karachi. Wazir Ghulam Hyder Bandali (1905-1986), the Leader sent a humble service having a are accountable to the Imam on April 9, 1963. Hazar Imam sent following message on April 20, 1963:-
